Job Description

This role, as head of IT Infrastructure and Service Management for the Americas region, is responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of the "Service Operations Management" (SOM), "Provider Management" (PVM) and "IT Service Management" teams “(ITSM) - with around 12-15 employees.

In addition, this leadership role will be responsible for the overall control of the regional IT infrastructure services which are outsourced to a 3rd party service provider as part of Olympus’ strategy for Global IT Optimization.

This role will be responsible for the Americas region, which includes Canada, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Puerto Rico. Olympus 3rd party provider delivers services related to Infrastructure, Operations, Service Desk, Cross-Functional Services and Security Operations.

Job Duties

  • Support the business objectives by ensuring the availability of a fit-for-purpose IT infrastructure and continuously improve its processes and technology whilst ensuring compliance and security as well as driving standardization and harmonization.

  • Ensure the fitness, quality and availability of the IT network and server infrastructure.

  • Supervise and control the ongoing day-to-day operation of the infrastructure services provided by Olympus’ 3rd party provider, through appropriate monitoring and control.

  • Provide direction, leadership and support to the team of direct/indirect reports to ensure the responsibilities of those teams/individuals are fulfilled.

  • Lead the IT infrastructure / cloud roadmap development including technological transformation, in coordination with Olympus’ 3rd party provider and the Olympus Global IT Infrastructure team.

  • Be accountable for:

  • ITSM Process effectiveness

  • Provider performance

  • Policy development on infrastructure for network, cloud, data center, end-user services etc.

  • Improvement processes within the Infrastructure and Service management team

  • Supported by the Service Operations function, reporting directly to you, ensure operational de-escalation management and major incident management.

  • Direct activities within functional areas of responsibility to ensure IT quality, compliance, business continuity, risk management, as well as leading participation in internal and external audit processes (e.g. J-Sox, ISO).

  • Perform other related duties as assigned, in support of IT Infrastructure and Service Management department, or broader IT function.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/BA degree, ideally in computer science, engineering, or comparable background. Equivalent work experience will also be considered in lieu of educational degree.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, with project track record in technical IT management and/or service delivery.

PREFFERED QUALIFUCATION:

  • Experience with working, communicating and facilitating across multiple layers of organizational structure, both locally and within a global matrix structure.

  • In-depth knowledge, supported by proven experience, in the management of IT outsourcing partnerships including contract and SLA management.

  • Understanding, implementing, and/or operating within ITIL processes. ITIL certification would be preferable

  • Management of complex IT programs and projects.

  • Strong technical background across multiple technologies, demonstrating continuous appetite for education and knowledge improvement.

  • Experience of working within a regulated/control environment, subject to FDA and SOX/J-Sox would be an advantage.
