Amazon NPI TPM Manager, Deployment Readiness in Westborough, Massachusetts

We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization, machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and real-time data processing using distributed systems.

The WW Technology Deployment org is seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Manager for a NPI Technical Program Manager team to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. You will be leading a team of like-minded individuals with the mission to ensure that robotics technologies maturing through the development pipeline are vetted and tested in the field, during Alpha and Beta deployments, to identify and resolve issues upstream before deployments at scale. This role is a key part of a technical team, with the following responsibilities:

Key job responsibilities

• Lead strategic Deployment Readiness programs with significant technical depth and breadth;

• New Product Introduction (NPI) TPM Manager acts as the leader for a team of TPM’s deploying new Robotics solutions during Alpha and Beta deployments;

• End-to-end ownership of a program of Robotics intake and deployment projects including program resourcing, CAPEX and vendor management;

• Provide team leadership: build a high performing team able to deliver programs with a high degree of ambiguity;

• Complex stakeholder management: work very closely with the Product Launch, large scale deployment, AR Hardware and Supply Chain teams throughout the program lifecycle;

• Define strategic deployment initiatives and follow them through to resolution;

• Define pre-GA deployment best practices and ensure these are implemented consistently by internal and external deployment teams;

• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards;

• Drive alignment of New Product Introduction strategy with internal stakeholders and external partners;

• Communicate program status to senior leadership and track resolution of key risks and issues;

• Traveling requirement for this role is up to 50%

Basic Qualifications

• University Degree in Engineering (or science/technology), or equivalent through experience;

• 10+ years of experience leading overall end-to-end project delivery including resources, CAPEX, schedule and vendor management;

• 5+ years of experience leading a team of project management professionals;

• Experience managing critical path schedules of multiple concurrent programs;

• Experience tracking relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and best overall value;

• Capable of multi-tasking, considering priorities, schedule commitments to customers, and resource constraints across stakeholder teams;

• Excellent business communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• Able to write clear and persuasive papers;

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Engineering, Robotics or related field;

• Working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, BIM360, MS Project and related software

• Six Sigma Black Belt

• Experience in delivering through others;

• Development of scalable deployment models, including reporting and execution plans;

• Recognized for developing technical talent, through recruiting, mentoring, both internal and external to your team;
