Amazon Robotics is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager - Technical (PM-T) to lead and support the Software Portfolio for Infrastructure and Operations Tooling. In this role, you will define and drive the strategic vision for advancing, aligning, and standardizing our suite of tools used by Amazon Fulfillment Center managers and support teams, and the software infrastructure necessary to capture, store, and visualize the data. This role will center on strategic alignment inside Amazon Robotics and across partner organizations to deliver comprehensive product strategy, requirement documents, and multi-year roadmaps for existing software and tools products and new product development.
The ideal candidate is a deep systems thinker with strong analytical capabilities who has shown an ability to influence strategy across organizations. You should have hands-on software development, systems engineering, and significant product management experience in complex technical environments. You should be adept at synthesizing diverse business needs, technologies, and capabilities into product solutions that deliver transformative results. We're looking for someone who can understand massive data sets and their complex interactions with data-generating processes. The candidate must be able to communicate simply complex concepts in verbal, written, and visual UX mediums to diverse business, operations, and technical stakeholders. This individual contributor role reports into Amazon Robotics' Product Management Excellence organization.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Drive the development of the vision, strategy, business plan, and roadmap for Amazon Robotics software Infrastructure and Operations Tooling
Be a passionate advocate for the customer; understand and articulate business and customer needs, leverage internal knowledge and expertise, and prioritize requirements
Author internal whitepapers and present to executive leadership to drive alignment on strategy, multi-year roadmaps, product plans, and resource allocations
Define Product and Software team goals and the path to execute
Technical Execution:
Evaluate and influence system architectural design and interface trade-off decisions across organizational boundaries to improve end-to-end system objectives
Collaborate with software developers, operations teams, solution designers, and engineers to understand technical feasibility and prioritization development and implementation of new concepts and features
Define use cases, write detailed requirements documents, and own the business metrics and KPIs for your products
Understand and Identify overlapping product spaces across organizations to simplify Operator experience

The Product Management Excellence (PME) team’s mission is to collaborate with Leadership and broadly across AR to establish our long-term vision and influence AR’s product and technology strategy to develop a portfolio that maximizes AR’s impact to Amazon. We aim to own the full product lifecycle by balancing three ongoing priorities: (1) continuously improving the world’s largest robotics product base, (2) delivering new solutions that maximize our customers’ business performance, and (3) inventing transformative products to solve our customers’ future needs.

Basic Qualifications
10+ years of technical product management experience in software, systems, or robotic development areas
Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field
Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition for a product category
Experience making sound decisions on product-technology feature, capability, and performance tradeoffs
Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions, architecture, and strategy related to a product
Proven track record managing complex stakeholder relationships
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and architectures
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to influence others and manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
MBA and/or post-graduate engineering/science degree
Experience leading and supporting Software products for business analytic tools, resource allocation, and operations management
Passion for driving customer experiences and diving deep into highly technical topics with engineers and scientists
Proven analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
Ability to create complex financial models to justify investment opportunities in software and infrastructure
