RedHat Software Quality Engineer in Westford, Massachusetts
The Red Hat Enterprise Experience and Delivery Red Hat Enterprise Linux (EXD - RHEL) Build team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join our globally distributed team in Westford, MA. In this role, you will be contributing to our existing build tooling as well as participating in the development and testing of new projects supporting our latest initiative in the automotive area by collaborating with tooling developers. You will be a part of the small cross-functional group where you will get opportunities to share your ideas and discuss selected solutions with other team members. You will cooperate with other quality engineers in testing our products, help to maintain our testing infrastructure, and work to define new tests for our products. You’ll become a part of Red Hat's culture that makes us unique in the Industry and work with communities passionate about open source software.
Primary job responsibilities
Perform individual work on test cases, design, and testing
Collaborate with the development and testing team on tooling development
Participate in maintenance of our testing infrastructure
Report test results to developers, cooperate on identified problem resolution
Execute automated tests as well as create detailed reports on manual testing
Perform internal QE code reviews
2-5 years of software development or testing experience
Analytic thinking skills and ability to plan and work unsupervised on complex testing tasks
Solid knowledge of Python and PyTest
Knowledge of Linux operating systems as a power user; knowledge of Ansible, Git
Ability to work in international environments
Basic knowledge of OpenStack is a plus
