We are actively searching for an experienced Staff Engineer for our Westford, MA facility. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
6 + years experience working in an IT/Operations environment. Administration experience with Solaris, Windows 7/10, Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Virtual Machines, Google Earth (Including Solaris zones and Windows active directory).
Experience with installation and configuration of Sun and Windows servers. Experience with installation and configuration of PCs and servers. Experience with installation and configuration of fiber and copper Network switches and console servers. Experience with installation and administration of RAID storage systems and Storage Area Networks (Raid Inc a plus).
Experience with government based security procedures and requirements. Experience with link encryption hardware. Familiarity with complex, VME-base, real-time systems. Scripting in a variety of languages, e.g. csh, bash, sh, tcl, perl, powershell (To automate tasks). Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Independently specifying, designing, scheduling and completing tasks in a timely manner.
Installation and configuration of Solaris, Linux and Windows servers.
Installation and configuration of Unix and Windows work stations.
Installation and configuration of fiber and copper Network switches and console servers.
Installation and administration of RAID storage systems and Storage Area Networks.
Configuration and maintenance of government based security procedures and requirements.
Update, modify, apply Windows Group Policy. Maintain Lab hardware and software, i.e. link encryption hardware, complex, VME-base, real-time systems.
Maintain and develop scripting in a variety of languages, e.g. csh, bash, sh, tcl, perl, powershell (To automate tasks).
Backup and restore critical Lab components.
Troubleshoot and repair lab equipment/system issues as needed. Install and test Lab software as needed.
Maintain equipment in a secure environment.
Create and maintain Preventative Maintenance inspection schedule and procedures
Create instruction steps for Field maintainers to follow
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Travel requirements – 10 to 15% both domestic & international
Experience with CMMI / Continuous Improvement / Lean and Six Sigma or ASQ certification preferred. Experience in maintaining equipment in a secure environment. Ability to create and maintain Preventative Maintenance inspection schedule and procedures
Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience
