Electrical Engineer III

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in power distribution networks, control and communications systems and experience with integration into hypersonic vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of electrical systems for hypersonic vehicles, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and systems engineers, to define electrical system requirements and ensure seamless integration with other subsystems.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technology evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in electrical systems.

  • Develop and review electrical system architectures, schematics, and specifications to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety.

  • Oversee the selection and procurement of electrical components and subsystems, working closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.

  • Perform rigorous testing, verification, and validation of electrical systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth production and assembly of electrical systems, providing technical support as needed.

  • Effectively communicate and present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Prepare detailed reports and proposals, including specifications, schematics, and test plans.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A master's degree or Ph.D. is highly desirable.

  • Extensive experience (8 years) in electrical engineering, with a focus on the development of complex systems, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.

  • Experience in power distribution networks, control systems, and communications systems.

  • Familiarity with design and integration within hypersonic vehicle environments.

  • Knowledge of hardened PWA (Printed Wiring Assembly) design and component selection is a plus.

  • In-depth understanding of power subsystems and their integration into complex systems.

  • Proficiency in GPS receiver and antenna design principles.

  • Experience with inertial/stellar guidance subsystems, advanced IMU technology, and related algorithms.

  • Strong knowledge of telemetry subsystems for data transmission and reception.

  • Experience with beacon subsystems for tracking and identification.

  • Experience in the design, testing, and integration of EO/IR seeker systems is preferred.

  • Familiarity with antenna design considerations in plasma environments.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and proposals with technical accuracy.

  • An existing U.S. Security Clearance is desired. The ability to obtain one is required.
