Symbotic SCADA Engineer in Wilmington, Massachusetts

The SCADA Engineer is part of our Industrial Automation team and Develops, deploys and maintains SCADA systems including hardware design and software functional specifications for our automated system.

Responsibilities:

  • Setup and configure SCADA software and hardware

  • Perform factory functional testing of programmed control systems, including PLCs, HMI, and SCADA

  • Develop engineered solutions and implements solutions to resolve customer issues

  • Modify PLC and HMI applications in the field

  • Troubleshoot control system control problems; implements software and hardware solutions to resolve problems

  • Recommend material and process specifications, utilize engineering tools to solve problems

  • Test the system to ensure functionality and monitor systems to quickly address problems or adjust automated processes.

  • Perform and document process instrumentation verification and calibration Mount and wire components in PLC and motor control panels

  • Provide support in material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up

  • Recommend ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction

  • Apply industrial controls related to Material Handling equipment (robotic arms, conveyors, lifts, etc.)

  • Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servo's, Graphics Panels, related drawing markups (schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.) and final documentation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or closely related field

  • 2 years’ experience with programming and configuring SCADA software packages, PLC platforms, Microsoft Operating Systems, OPC , SQL, and OLE clients and servers.

  • Testing and commissioning electrical and software aspects of industrial automation equipment; and using Variable Frequency Drives.

  • Approximately 30-40% travel required to various customer locations.
