Job Description: An opportunity exists for a Senior Principal Software Engineer within the Missile Defense Radar Software Department in Woburn, Massachusetts to support our AN/TPY-2 Radar software line. The AN/TPY-2 Exportability Software Architect provides technical guidance for the implementation of capabilities enabling Foreign Military Sales (FMS) of the AN/TPY-2 radar. The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ an AGILE Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. The ANTPY-2 Exportability Software Architect guides and oversees development of new exportability capabilities as well as modifications to existing exportability software that enable the incorporation of new radar capabilities in the AN/TPY-2 software product line. The AN/TPY-2 Exportability Software Architect is responsible for ensuring that software configurations meet all criteria required for release to FMS radars. The AN/TPY-2 Exportability Software Architect works closely with the AN/TPY-2 Radar Software Architect to review all implementation decisions with respect to how they will impact both US and FMS radars. Responsibilities include: Member of the AN/TPY-2 Software Technical Council Final approver of software configurations for release to prime customer for export Develops architectural concepts and guides design for new exportability capabilities Assesses current exportability architecture for impacts due to proposed changes in the AN/TPY-2 software baseline Drives common exportability product line solutions as Key technical reviewer of software designs/implementation decisions to ensure consistency with product line for different FMS customers Arbiter of conflicting common technical designs Plans and manages software trade studies and pathfinding/prototyping activities Supports new business with architecture concepts and high level software designs Key technical reviewer of Exportability Proposal Efforts Required Skills: This position requires an existing secret clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related STEM field. Minimum 10 yrs experience in all phases of software engineering 7+ years of experience with Ada, C or C++ 7+ years real-time software development experience 5+ years of experience at the Software architecture level Software development experience in a DoD environment ClearCase or equivalent configuration management tool experience Strong problem solving ability Strong verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills: Familiarity with the following SW Tools: ClearCase, DOORS, iTracker Experience in the program protection domain AN/TPY-2 or XBR Radar domain knowledge Six Sigma Specialist certification Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering Experience in an Agile/SCRUM development environment Technical proposal preparation and estimation process All these job responsibilities are to be executed in harmony with Raytheon's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct policy which sets the standard by which we operate and how we treat others.
