Kforce IT Administrator in Woburn, Massachusetts

Kforce has a client in search of an IT Administrator in Woburn, MA.Key Tasks:

  • Provide end user technical desktop hardware and software support for all local and remote users - MS suite of products, SQL a plus, desktop productivity applications, networking HW, and cloud computing

  • Provide advanced networking support (firewall rules, wireless technology, VPN, etc.)

  • Assists with rollout of software upgrades, patch updates, and service packs as required on end user and server HW

  • Prepare and conduct end-user training for use of any relevant productivity tool(s) - MS Office 365 is core

  • Create and maintain updated documentation for all relevant and supported technologies

  • Basic Hyper-V support and maintenance

  • Assists with basic programming (i.e. PowerShell, Python, C#)

  • Recommend/assist/lead with finding/deploying new technologies aligned with improving business user requirements/capabilities

  • Administration of cloud-based e-mail, phone system and supporting network, physical building security, and remote systems access

  • Continually monitor technology advancements, trends, and best practices to ensure we are implementing and executing solutions that exceed internal/external customer expectations

  • Support, maintain and improve overall confidentiality of sensitive individual and business IP

  • Monitor and remediate any business systems security breach

  • Recommend and assist with value added technology projects

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience in IT or database administration

  • Minimum 2 years in a help desk/support position for desktop PC's, laptops and related peripherals such as printers, scanners, bar code scanners, etc.

  • Advanced Windows 10 knowledge (image/application deployment, policies/settings, encryption)

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software issues

  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (WinSvr2008 - WinSvr2019, Windows XP - Win10 Pro, and Microsoft Suite of Products)

  • Experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection or similar

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools

  • Experience with back-up technologies such as Barracuda

  • Experience with iSCSI SANS, Dell PowerEdge, and Dell/Cisco Switches

  • Ability to support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and Intranet

  • Working knowledge of firewalls, VPN gateways, and FortiGate

  • Basic programming skills is a plus (PowerShell, Python, C#, basic scripting)

  • Experience working in a collaborative environment with all levels of end users

  • Inquisitive, technologically minded, constantly staying familiar with emerging technological advancements, recommending solutions aligned with helping the company operate more efficiently, effectively and at a lower cost

  • Customer centric, focused both internally and externally, capturing and transparently sharing daily incident and extended improvement project performance with leadership
