Raytheon Technologies Program Cross Product Team Lead - Whole Life Engineering in Woburn, Massachusetts

Are you interested in joining a dynamic, inclusive and growing professional organization? Raytheon Missile and Defense is looking for a Program Cross Product Team (CPT) Lead within Whole Life Engineering for the FSSM&I (Fixed Station Sensor Modernization and Integration) Radar Program.

The Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) Whole Life Engineering Directorate (WLED) is made up of multiple disciplines across a global footprint.

WLED influences hardware, software and system architectures and designs early in their life cycle to assure effective, reliable, maintainable and economical ownership by the customer and end user.

As a Program CPT Lead you’re responsible for providing innovative and trusted solutions that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of products and services over their life cycle.

This is accomplished by leveraging existing and new capabilities developed within WLE in collaboration with the RMD Engineering organizations as well as other functions within RMD and across the RTX business. Although this position does not have direct reports, this role does include leading a program specific team responsible for integrating the WLE people, processes, and tools to achieve program specific objectives in accordance with RMD policies and procedures.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Executing the WLE functional leadership of the FSSM&I Radar program

  • Establishing key process and product metrics and driving continuous improvement in technical, schedule and cost performance of WLE products and services

  • Providing WLE inputs to proposals, supporting customer proposal negotiations, executing program start-up to include program Integrated Master Plan/Integrated Master Schedule and performance baseline development.

  • Developing and partnering customer proposals, white papers, statements of work and Basis of Estimates

  • Supporting WLE functional leadership, program Integrated Product Team leads, and Program Managers to achieve staffing demands, identify and develop key personnel and build long-term plans that support WLE and program business initiatives.

  • Supporting the WLE Director and Engineering VP via compliance with internal policies and procedures to include development of program tracking books, Estimate at Completions and compliance with the Earned Value Management System.

This position is currently being executed as a remote-work role with the requirement to support in office scope and management/customer meetings as necessary (approximately monthly).

During the pandemic, it very unlikely that any CONUS or OCONUS travel will be required. As a leader however, additional time in the office and travel may be required.

This position requires an Active DoD Secret security clearance.

Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of engineering and/or logistics support experience

  • 8+ years’ experience and a relevant master’s degree may be considered for this role

  • Experience within the Integrated Logistics Support disciplines (maintenance planning, supply support, training, and/or technical manuals)

  • Experience using program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS) or experience integrating project cost, schedule and progress.

  • Experience using Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management or related tools to identify issues and develop implement courses of action

  • US Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:

  • Track record of building and growing relationships to meet contractual requirements and capture the full potential of follow-on business

  • Experience in strategic development and / or contract capture in the Defense Industry

  • Ability to lead the development of long range plans to capitalize on future opportunities

  • Ability to manage diverse tasks, requirements and commitments and interface successfully across numerous disciplines

  • Ability to overcome obstacles and negotiate change

  • Demonstrated comprehensive planning skills with the ability to analyze technical and financial data and reports

  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making

  • Broad-based technical background and troubleshooting with a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals with comparable progression of management responsibilities

  • Experience with Department of Defense Radar Sustainment Programs

  • Ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively – including customer, IDS, teammates and suppliers

  • Experience as an IPT/CPT Lead

  • Experience with Engineering PMER, SBT, and ELF/Team Strngth tools

  • Proficiency with application and execution of IDSs Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar business processes

  • Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities

  • Knowledge of RMD business process used for proposals

  • Knowledge of RMD policies and procedures

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree.

8+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.
