Scientific Systems Company, Inc. (SSCI, www.ssci.com) is looking for a Sr Vision Systems Engineer in the Visual-based Navigation Systems area of the Products Division.

Job Responsibilities:
Ph.D. or M.S. with 4+ years of relevant experience in CS or engineering with a focus on the development of Computer Vision algorithms to support guidance navigation, and the control of autonomous systems.
Work as part of a team to design, implement, and analyze computer vision strategies for autonomous sense-and-avoid systems.
Modify, develop, writes, and implement software applications to support autonomous navigation for real-world unmanned air vehicles.
Performs extensive coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting to support the software development process.
Able to generate performant, well-designed object-oriented applications which leverage advanced programming techniques.
Contribute technical materials for proposals, white papers, and publications.
Requirements
Required Skills:
Advanced experience with standard software development tools and traditional computer vision techniques, including:
Image transformations
Homography
Camera Calibration
C/C++
Python
Git
OpenCV
CUDA
Basic working knowledge in one or more specialization areas, such as:
Object detection and tracking
Feature extraction and clustering
Filtering and prediction algorithms
Probabilistic inference
GPU and CUDA programming
Embedded vision systems
Synthetic imagery generation
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Experience developing computer vision algorithms for autonomous mobile robotics.
Experience characterizing the performance of detection and tracking algorithms.
Experience with both traditional and modern computer vision techniques.
Experience with optimization for computationally constrained applications.
Experience with containerized development (e.g., Docker).
Experience with embedded software development and/or edge processing.
Experience with DDS middleware protocol.
