Systems & Technology Research System Administrator Team Lead in Woburn, Massachusetts
We have a position available for a System Administrator Team Lead with current Top-Secret clearance to support our Woburn, MA office.
Lead a team of 2-4 Junior System Administrators in daily tasks and long-term projects
Implement, deploy, and maintain Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows (Server 2012 r2, 2016, 2019, and Win10)
Support Information System Security Managers (ISSM), Information System Security Officers (ISSO), senior management, researchers and other team members supporting the customers’ requirements
Have the mindset and be driven to automate using PowerShell, Ansible, shell scripting and other technology
Configure and maintain storage, switches, firewalls, directory services, and group policies
Perform hands-on diagnostics with root cause analysis of desktop and server issues
Implement and monitor system backups
Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses
Familiarity to run vulnerability and compliance scanning tools and have the knowledge to remediate findings
Have some knowledge of container related tech and orchestration; Docker, Podman, containers, and Kubernetes distros
Research and procure necessary hardware and software components required to complete a task
Provide rare case of ad-hoc travel and after-hours support for our Information Systems’ maintenance, patching and remediation
Create and maintain installation, configuration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and end user documentation
Maintain current knowledge of DoD security, technical guidelines and organizational policies
3 or more years of Linux (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows OS administration
1 or more years of experience automating with PowerShell, Ansible or similar
Experience with business and engineering grade applications such as Office, Matlab, Visual Studio, and other scientific/engineering applications
Must hold an active Top-Secret clearance
Have current or ability to attain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and have or ability to pass a Counter-Intelligence (CI) Polygraph
Travel up to 20% in support of other STR sites and customer facilities
Excellent problem solving, time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet customer demands and deadlines
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and desire to learn. Self-motivated with strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
Microsoft, Linux, and security certifications
Enterprise virtualization tools such as Hyper-V and VMware vSphere ESXi
Effective utilization of Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGS) and Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Content and Tools
