The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager to ensure that the Quality Management System and quality standards of the company are implemented and maintained at the Saint-Gobain Composite Systems Worcester facility in accordance with corporate quality policies, applicable regulatory requirements, ISO requirements, and customer specifications/expectations.
The Quality Engineer provides technical expertise to assist in a variety of quality areas under the guidance of the Quality Manager.
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for processes, materials, and products.
Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering field.
Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, testing measurement and analytical equipment and facilities.
Continually work with customers and production to improve performance, implement process control and quality plans.
Develop and administer the customer rejection program including requests for corrective action and customer quality metrics.
Interact routinely with Engineering and Suppliers to proactively improve quality of products.
Lead or participate in various development/improvement projects from quality engineering prospective.
Perform Quality Systems audits and provide support for Quality Systems improvements.
Bachelor's degree required, In an Engineering field; Chemical, Plastics Engineering preferred
3 years Quality role (Quality System development, implementation, and/or execution) within a manufacturing environment
Quality Concepts and tools such as sampling theory, statistical analysis, quality cost reporting, DOE, Lean, DMAIC, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans.
Familiarity with general manufacturing practices, processes and product(s)
Familiarity with ISO 9001 Standard, ISO 14001, GMP, cGMP, ISO 13485 Standard
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Dedicated, self-starter with a high degree of motivation, able to make independent decisions
Familiarity with coating, converting and lamination of film product(s)
