Thermo Fisher Scientific Site Specialist II in Worcester, Massachusetts

Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located in Worcester, Massachusetts

What will you do?

  • Bioreactor Support Activities

  • Cleaning, line & bottle preparation and setup Support across Cell Culture & Manufacturing Sciences

  • Support for 78+ bioreactors

  • Track & perform user required maintenance and support for lab instruments for bioreactors

  • General Lab Support Activities:

  • Inventory, order, receive, and stock appropriate levels of raw materials and lab consumables

  • Inventory/Monitor quantities of stock solutions and submit order to refill stocks when low.

  • Perform daily lab equipment calibration/verification checks.

  • Perform routine lab equipment cleaning and maintenance activities.

  • Media Preparation Activities

  • Bioreactor setup

  • Breaking down and adding base reactors

  • Rinsing out base & adding tubing

How will you get here?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences, Biology or related field preferred, but demonstrated equivalent experience or capability accepted

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Experience in a technical laboratory and a demonstrated organizational ability

  • Must possess good working familiarity with analytical laboratory testing equipment, laboratory procedures & protocols.

  • Familiarity with computers and software programs

  • Ability to support numerous tasks and responsibilities concurrently

  • Excellent customer service standards & ability to communicate & work with management, client co-workers, many staff professionals and others in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Broad understanding of biology

  • Large laboratory experience across many technology areas

  • IT experience to support equipment upgrades, inventory databases, calendar applications
